Prof B. Venkatesh Kumar
Chairperson, Centre for Academic Leadership and Education Management
Prof B Venkatesh Kumar is the Chairperson of CALEM, TISS. He is Professor and Chairperson at the Centre for Public Policy and Governance, and the Director of the National CSR Hub at TISS. He is also the Chairperson of Higher Education Leadership Academy, TISS and Course Director for the One Week In service Training for All India Services Officers sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India. He is also Member, National Project Approval Board, Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), National Coordinator, RUSA Technical Support Group and Visiting Scholar, Center for Advanced Study of India, University of Pennsylvania. Prof Venkatesh Kumar earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Mumbai, and is a recipient of numerous awards.
Senior Research Fellow
Dr Ananya Samajdar is the Programme Coordinator for CALEM, TISS. She is involved in various aspects of the organization of CALEM’s leadership training activities, including preparation of content framework, planning the research agenda, compilation of resources, documentation and reporting, and networking with academic leaders. She is also Head, Proposal Bank and Proposal Evaluation, National CSR Hub, TISS. Dr Ananya holds a PhD in Political Science from the National University of Singapore. Her research interests lie in the area of Higher and School Education, CSR and public policy and governance (especially democratic local governance and the role of academic institutions in policy making and implementation).
Senior Manager, MA Human Resource Management, BA English Literature
Ms Shambhavi Singh is a Senior Program Manager at Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She joined TISS in 2016, and has since worked on higher education and school education reforms. Her research interests include: Leadership, System level policy reforms in K-12 and Higher Education, and Corporate Social Responsibility. She has completed numerous research cum intervention and organizational transformation efforts in national and international not for profits. Ms Shambhavi is involved in various aspects of the organization of school leadership programmes under CALEM, including preparation of content and compilation of resources and pool of resource persons.
Dr. Keerthi Sampath Kumar
Dr. Keerthi Sampath Kumar completed her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Warsaw in 2016 under the Erasmus Mundus IBIES scholarship. She has previously worked with the UNICEF and the Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), New Delhi. Her areas of interest include academic research on higher and school education, public policy and governance, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and CSR proposal evaluation. She is involved in CALEM’s activities such as compilation of resources, preparation of content and other aspects of the organization of school and higher education leadership programmes under CALEM.
Ms Amita Parulkar has a background in Sociology and has completed her M.A. in Development from Azim Premji University with a specialization in Law & Governance. She has previously worked in the areas of rural development planning and film-media curation with organisations like Centre for Development Studies and Activities and Culture Unplugged Studios. Her interest areas are school education, higher education and CSR. She is involved in CALEM related activities such as preparation of content for school and higher education leadership programmes.
Programme Officer, PGDM Development Communication, BA Economics
Ms Nayani Khurana is a Programme Officer with Centre for Public Policy and Governance with PGDM in Communication for Development and BA in Economics.She deals in Development and Implementation of Communication Strategy and website development for CALEM. Her area of interests are Interdisciplinary Approach in Programme Development, Gender and Education reforms.
Professional Fellow, MA Social Work, Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication
Ms Divya Balyan is a Senior Programme Manager with Centre for Public Policy and Governance and is currently engaged in TISS’s Higher Education leadership Academy, CALEM and RUSA related initiatives. She looks after management and research of the above mentioned programs. In the HELA programmes, she has performed the following duties: managing operations, over all organisation of the leadership forums, developing feedback mechanisms, maintaining MIS, and report development, and is performing similar roles under CALEM.

Ms Namrata Lokhande holds an MA in Social Work from TISS. She is involved in CALEM related tasks such as maintaining of database and coordination related to the organization of leadership training programmes.
